IDENTITY: Mr. David Bloodworth of St. Paul's Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire.Born in Wittering, Northamptonshire, in c, 1836, to parents William, a toll collector, and his wife Sarah.After schooling finished, became an assistant to John Parr, headmaster of a small boarding school in St Pauls Street, Stamford. Married John Parr's widowed daughter, Sarah Wade, in 1864. By the 1871 census, David had taken over from his father-in-law and was headmaster of the school.By 1881, his step-son from his wife's first marriage, Frederick Wade, was an assistant to David at the school. The school had reduced in size, with only 12 boarding students recorded on the night of the census.
David's wife Sarah died in 1882, and by the 1891 census, David was still living in St Paul Street but had changed occupations-aged 55, he was an accountant,employing a housekeeper and a general servant. The 1901 census shows him still in St. Pauls Street, working as the proprietor of a gasworks.
David Bloodworth died in 1914, aged 78 years.
