IDENTITY: Miss Susanna Bird Ellis of St. Paul's Street, Stamford. Baptised August 9, 1798, Deeping St. James, Lincolnshire, daughter of Edward Moar Ellis and his wife Jane. In the 1841 and 1851 census returns, Susannah was living at St. James Deeping with her widowed mother Jane Ellis. After the death of her mother, Susanna moved to Stamford, where she appears in the 1861 census living in St. Paul's Street and 'independent'.
She was still in St. Paul's Street in 1871, living with two female servants. Susanna Bird Ellis died in 1875, aged 79 years.
